About This Safari
A four-day northern Kenya safari: the rhino sanctuary of Solio Ranch, then Samburu National Reserve and the rare species found only in Kenya's north.
After an early breakfast we drive to Solio Ranch in Kenya's Central Province. Solio offers exceptional game viewing and one of the largest populations of both black and white rhinos; many of the rhinos translocated to other parks and conservancies in Kenya and across Africa came from here. Arrive in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive.
Overnight: Aberdare Country Club, with dinner.
After breakfast we drive further north to Samburu National Reserve, the only place in East and Central Africa to see several species together: reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra, beisa oryx, Somali ostrich and gerenuk. We arrive in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive until dusk.
Overnight: Samburu Sopa Lodge, Samburu Simba Lodge or Sarova Shaba Lodge.
After an early breakfast we set out on a game drive. Samburu is home to more than 400 species of colourful birds, so it is a great place for photographs. We return to camp for lunch and a short rest before an afternoon game drive until sunset. A visit to a Samburu village is well worth it.
Overnight: Samburu Sopa Lodge, Samburu Simba Lodge or Sarova Shaba Lodge.
After breakfast we drive back to Nairobi; lunch is on your own account. We drop you at the airport for your flight home, timed to your flight schedule.
